In September my sister-in-law Faith came up and we had a Pampered Chef party. Faith is the consultant and I had warned her that there would not be many guests. I am a real homebody and don't have many friends around here. I have my lovely neighbors on each side and there are a lot of people I know by sight and will stop and talk to but most of my friends live far away from me. They are either relatives or remnants of our Army days who live in many different states and even in other countries. In any case I sent out e-mails with the link so people who could not attend could still place an order and if not for that I would have been a real flop as a PC party hostess! As it turned out on the actual day of the party, my neighbor Ashley was the only one to show. But Faith and I and our other s-i-l Annette (who had her own party a week or two before) had a wonderful time with Ashley and I ended up with enough sales to pay for half of the order I placed. Hubby couldn't really complain about me buying the $65 covered baker when I got it and several other items for only $57 total.
Fast forward a week and I had my order in my hot little hands. Now what to cook? I really like the covered baker. I have made the Mexican Chicken Lasagna recipe from PC in it and it was very yummy. I have cooked a whole chicken and meatloaf in it too (not at the same time of course). I did not use the PC recipe for the meatloaf though as it was a mexican meatloaf and I prefer regular meatloaf (how many times can you use "meatloaf" in a sentence?). It was very tasty. The other night I made pork tenderloin in it. I followed the time guidelines from PC but used the Hormel pre-marinated Bourbon Maple flavor (yumm-o). The only other thing I did to it was cut it almost in half longways and kind of butterflied it out so it would cook better. My next recipe for it is the Baked Potato Chowder...I'll let you know. Did I forget to mention that all of these meals were cooked in the microwave? In less than 30 minutes? Yes, even the meatloaf! I am very glad to have my covered baker but I probably would not have bought it if I had to pay full price. Do you have any favorite Pampered Chef tools or recipes? I would love to hear about them!

That covered baker sounds awesome! I'm going to have to request it for Christmas or my birthday. And how great that it comes with recipes.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of PC items (cheese grater and pizza cutter) and love them. I just wish it wasn't so pricey!
Jana-It doesn't, technically, come with recipes. I bought the $1 recipe booklet and my s-i-l sent me a word document with lots more recipes. If you end up getting one let me know and I can e-mail you the word doc!
ReplyDeleteThat baker is great! I really should get one. I've used it but never got one for myself. In fact, I was a Pampered Chef consultant for many years. I just stopped about two years ago.
ReplyDeleteI have so many PC items (most of my kitchen is PC stuff) and so many favorite recipes I wouldn't know where to start. ;)
I have two favorite PC items! The first is my juice pitcher, you put the frozen juice in and the built in whisk mixes it all in seconds. The other is the wooden spoons. They have never frayed, cracked, or discolored!!! I put them in the dishwasher all the time. The best part is that my cousin, who used to be a Pampered Chef consultant gave them to me as mommy gifts when I had my first baby!!!
