Day 19: One More Week

Here we are one little week away from the best meal of the year! This year will be a very special one for me and my side of the family. I only have one sibling. My brother Michael is 5 years older than I am and he and his wife, Wendy and their two kids (Noah is 8 and Audrey is 5) live in Maryland. Maryland may as well be on the moon though because the likelihood of me ever visiting is so low. We are hopeful though that we will get the chance to visit them in the near future.
In any case, the reason this Thanksgiving will be so special is that Mike and his whole family are coming to spend it with us!! The last time I saw him was 2 years ago at our grandmother's funeral. The last time I saw his kids was in 2005 when he brought them to Mom and Dad's for Thanksgiving and my kids and I went down there the day after to see them. Jayme wasn't able to come with us though. In fact, Jayme has never seen Audrey in person and he hasn't seen Noah since he was about 3 months old! The last time I saw Wendy was when Audrey was born in 2004. So this has been a LONG TIME COMING!!
Our plans this year are to go to our land on Tuesday with the trailer and we are staying there until Sunday. On Wednesday, Mom, Dad, Mike, Wendy and the kids are all coming up to the land. My mom's parents are coming as well. Down the road from our place are some houses you can rent and we have reserved one of them. My folks and grandparents will stay in it while the rest of us sleep in the trailer. That will also give us another oven and a place to eat if the weather doesn't cooperate. I'm so excited to watch the kids play and have our whole family together. Everyone else has to leave on Friday so we will make the most of the time together.
