What a whirlwind of activity we've had around here. Yes, the floors are done. The painting is done too. The re-hanging pictures and replacing things that we moved to the garage/front yard/back yard...not so much! I did have a functional kitchen in time to make Easter lunch for the family and my sweet parents even drove up to spend the day with us (gas prices be damned!). So, a little recap for you...
When we went to bed on April 13th, our kitchen looked like this
And our living room.hallway looked like this
That's dust, not smoke!
Tile boxes stacked by dining room
Laminate boxes stacked by front door
Little preview we couldn't resist!
Wednesday night we prepped for the next day by removing all the furniture and appliances from the kitchen. The stove ended up on the back porch. It couldn't be used out there though so I made dinner on the gas burner attached to the grill. Worked like a charm! The fridge was in the living room.
The guys arrived around 9 on Thursday morning and got straight to work. It wasn't long before we were looking like this:
...and then this...
Kitchen/dining/laundry were done! Onto the bathroom:
WHEW! Now for the woodwork; prep first...
They started in the hallway and said it would take as long to do that space as it would the whole living room because of the little cuts for the doorways and odd angle at the end. They were right. It was slow at first...
But as soon as that hallway was done, BOOM!
I made dinner Thursday night in the microwave. It was a yummy dish that is prepped in there on purpose using a Pampered Chef Baker. Where was my microwave? you ask...
I set the microwave on that patch of carpet under the desk, outside our front door.
Once the grouting was done they glued in the transition pieces. They asked if we had any heavy books we could set on them to hold them in place and remind us not to step on them. Thank goodness for college textbooks! I just knew they'd come in handy someday...
After a couple runs with a mop, we had a house again. Don't you just love a man who mops? I know I do!!
We even managed to have enough things back in place in time for that rascally rabbit to come and hide eggs. This is an Easter we will remember for a long time!

Love! Also, JEALOUS! :)
