I started to post Phase III this morning, only to realize I have never posted a Phase II!! We have been more than slightly overloaded with projects lately and I guess it slipped my slippery mind. Better late than never, right?
So! We made a quick trip to the land to pick up some long cedar poles for Phase II.
Jayme placed like-sized poles along the fenceline for easier access.
Luke inspected the work and we were allowed to begin.
Here is an in-progress look. We set a few poles on without securing them or cutting to length. We had a couple design ideas in mind and we preferred this one with a pole on each side of the post at the same height. You'll see why in Phase III.
Now we have secured and cut several sections worth of top rails. Bottom rails are Phase IV and should happen this coming week if we have enough poles!
It was a little dark when we finished for the day but we are very happy with the look!
Here's a look at the side. You can see a gap between the two posts straight across.
The one on the left will be our gate for mowing access and kids running to play next door. The one on the right has to wait until the gate has been placed so we know how much clearance will be needed. I'll post a last picture here when it's done! Here's a mock-up of the gate.
It's been a lot of fun to be outside working on this project or working in the garden and neighbors out for a walk or coming home from work will stop and tell us what they think. So far we have heard a lot of compliments. Even the UPS guy stopped to commend us. He brought us the Phase III supplies a few days ago. Be sure to check out the Phase III post coming up next!
