Well, we haven't just been concentrating on the outside of the house this past couple of weeks. We decided it was time for a face lift on the inside as well. Back before Pattie was born, we painted her room and the boys' room but had never painted the rest of the house. All that is changing! We started with the hallway, living room, dining area, kitchen and laundry. I didn't take a lot of pictures but there's a few. We went with pretty much the same color. The intention was to get the exact same color just in an eggshell finish that could be cleaned if something got on the wall. Unfortunately the color match machine was down when I went to buy the paint so I had to eyeball it. I ended up with something just a shade or two lighter than what we had but it's growing on us. Not much we can do about it!

| This wall is largely finished. You can see the old color way up top on the left. |
It has been really weird living without all our stuff up on the walls!
 |
| Old color still except for the cut-in around the mantle |
Kind of sad to have to take the Easter stuff down too. Hopefully we will be finished enough this week to redecorate!
When I got home from subbing on Thursday afternoon, my kitchen looked like this:
 |
| EEEEEEEEEEEK!!!!!!!! |
I was very glad I wasn't home for this, I might have had a panic attack. As it was the poor guy we had doing it for us was worn out! But he got it done
 |
| Goodbye linoleum! |
and moved on to the living room.
 |
| Goodbye stained carpet! |
 |
| Hello temporary concrete floor until we get the Pergo next week. |
The hallway and hall bath were up next.
He pulled the carpet up in 6 foot wide sections and then rolled up the linoleum mess inside it and put it in the back of our truck.
Jayme called around and found out that the local landfill was having a Spring Cleaning event this month. If you went by the Constable's office you could get a waiver for a free truckbed full of trash! Good timing for us. He and Pattie took the stuff the next day and that was that!
We are keeping the carpet in the bedrooms. The hallway and living room will have Pergo laminate flooring. We thought about going with real wood but the expense has us thinking twice. We found two colors we really like but are having a hard time choosing between them. Raley and I like
this one and Clay and Jayme like
this one. What do you think?
As for the kitchen and bathroom, they will have tile. We already have tile in our entryway and we are going to match it as best we can. Nothing special, just a light color to match the rest of the house. We should be tiling this week and hopefully the wood next week. They come out today to measure. Exciting times!!
I like the one you like! A deeper color would anchor the room.
