Happy 1st Day of Spring! I know some places in the world this day goes by like any other with no real sign yet of warmer weather and outdoor fun, but here in East Texas, we have signs and sounds of spring all around us. Here's a little tour of our yard to prove it:

The flowerbed above also has some "unexpected" guests. Two winters ago, Jayme tried several different ways of propagating some black walnuts from nuts he found on the side of the road. He buried a few here in this bed but then we forgot all about them. If you look closely, on the edge closest, you will see a row of seedling growing up. Guess what they are? Isn't nature amazing?!
Oh, and just one more sign of spring's arrival?
