Move Update

Well, it is undeniable now! Jayme took a big load of boxes with him back to Houston yesterday and our storage unit there is about half full. We are trying to figure out how to handle the big items; whether we will rent a PODS or a U-Haul. Every time I start to pack another box I get teary eyed and emotional. As excited as I am to get where we are going, I do not like the thought of leaving behind all that we have done here.
Our peach tree is producing and they are starting to ripen. At least we will get the chance to enjoy them once. The blueberries in the front flower bed have also produced sweet little berries. We are definitely going to plant blueberries at the new house! They are very fun and quite pretty.
I made it through another pet peeve day without making a big deal out of things. I get irritated with people mistaking  Memorial Day for Veteran's Day. As the granddaughter, daughter, sister-in-law, cousin, friend and wife of a veteran, I take Veteran's day very seriously and feel like it is quite important. But Memorial Day isn't for veterans, not really. Memorial Day is for those who have given their lives in the service of this country. Lumping in all veterans to this day is like celebrating all women on Mother's Day or all men on Father's Day to me. In any case, I managed to not make any such comments on facebook yesterday and only mention it here because it's my safe place for that kind of thing.
Well, I guess I better go make up another box or two. The boys' last day of school is tomorrow and we are heading down to my folks' for a bit of R&R before the last big push to empty out the house. Hoping it will all be done by Father's Day so we can have the last week before closing to clean and replace the carpets. Won't be long now!!
