Really? Already? How does this keep happening? Last week you were born and three days ago you started walking and just yesterday you said Mama for the first time! How can you be 12? You don't LOOK 12---do you?

Oh crap, you do! I guess it's true then. It doesn't mean I believe it or that I can handle it though.

Happy Birthday my sweet amazing boy! In the past year you have learned to play the trombone, and quite well I must say, you have read the Lord of the Rings trilogy and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, you have thought about your future and talked about being a police officer or a CSI tech, you have suffered through sharing a room and you are very glad that is about to change, you have stepped up to help me when your dad is out of town, you have gone on a big school trip far from home and come back with nothing but happy stories and lots of pictures, you have continually amazed us and made us so very proud of you. you have been a great big brother, a wonderful friend, a fabulous son, and an absolute joy. I 'm so glad that I am the only mom in the whole world who can call you their son.
