Weekly Update

So is this how it's going to be now on the blog? I feel so bad about hardly ever posting here and then writing a big, long (uninteresting?) post about what's been going on since last time. I have guilt!
In any case, the main reason for the seldom posts is I am getting so much sub work. It's great because we are accomplishing our goals faster than we anticipated and Christmas won't have to be so lean for the kids. Everyone else will still probably get a treat basket, but I contend that those ARE nice gifts. The time and effort that goes into making the treats and assembling the trays is worth something, right? No, no, no,it's NOT Christmas yet so we aren't talking about it!
Again this year I am dismayed at seeing the ghosts and witches replaced immediately by trees and Santa at the stores in town. Nary a turkey or Pilgrim to be seen for the most part. *sigh*
I have been working and having a great time. Three days this past week, two in Kindergarten and one in 4th grade. I didn't work on Thursday, by choice, because we had PLANS! Jayme, Pattie and I took our trailer down to park it at the land for Thanksgiving and winter fun. While we were there, we met up with our friend Murad and accepted temporary guardianship of our sometimes-dog, Tufaan. It's been a long time since we had seen him! We used to keep Tufaan every week for Murad while he went to school at U of H. Then Murad moved back to Houston and we haven't seen them. Well, Murad is getting married and his wife has never been around dogs. They are getting married out of the country and we are keeping Tufaan until they get back and get settled. They will come up and visit him and Sana will get a slow introduction. In the meantime we are having a blast with the big doofus.

I posted my 100th on the recipe blog last week! You should click over and look around if you need a new idea for dinner. That little project has turned out to be a LOT of fun. I don't get a lot of comments on it but I know a few people who are looking and cooking. That makes it worthwhile! We are still adjusting to me being out of the house most days during the week. Sometimes the laundry piles up and the dishes don't get washed right away, but at the end of the day everyone is fed, has clean clothes to wear the next day, and we are happy so I take that as a win. Chaos reigns and we are still embracing it!

  1. That's great news about the extra work/extra cash. I'm sure it'll help make Christmas easier. (Not that you NEED money to make Christmas special, but it makes it easier when you're not on as restrictive a budget.)
