Another Nice Weekend

Well, we have had another weekend that went okay. I still get nervous about making plans but when we are a little more spontaneous things are working out. On Saturday we went to another Ranger Program at Tyler State Park. We went last weekend and really enjoyed it so when I saw that this weekend's was a hike to the Woodpecker home turf, we decided to try it again. The ranger took us down a hiking/biking trail we didn't even know existed and we ended up at a stand of dead pine trees that the Woodpeckers nest in. We saw several of the little birds and some other types too. After the hike we went over to the swim area and had a nice time in the water. Since we were halfway there when we left the park, we went on to the next county where we can buy alcohol and got some libations to last the week. That night we watched an old movie that I love, "Every Which Way But Loose". We laughed and laughed at the bumbling biker gang and the antics of Clyde the Orangutan.
Sunday Jayme mowed the backyard (our awesome neighbor had mowed our front for us when he mowed his own), worked in the garden some and harvested our first cantaloupe.

Then we went shopping in Tyler. We finally got the kitchen and dining areas cleaned and promptly messed them up again with dinner. Oh, well. At least the floors were clean.
Monday we decided to go swim again. It is a lot less crowded during the week and we arrived just before 10 am. We stayed until 12:30 and had a great time. The boys are swimming very well. Clay bought himself some flippers and is learning how to use them.
We have made plans to travel to Houston next weekend and I am super nervous about it. I even had a dream last night that we all got sick. I sure hope this trip works out because it is kind of our last chance to go this summer. Once Jayme's schedule changes, we have one week with nothing else going on and then it's Meet the Teacher and back to school. *fingers crossed*
