Last Week/Weekend

Well, most of last week was full of rotating Raley through his medication for the Fever of Unknown Origin. He finally awoke Thursday morning with no fever and things were semi-normal for a day or two (dun-dun-DUN). My parents came up Thursday night and we packed up for the Family Reunion and left when Jayme got home Friday afternoon. It's about a 3 hour drive from here to Lake Texoma where the reunion has been held for the last dozen or so years. We weren't able to go last year so it had been 2 years since we saw any of the family. This reunion is for my Dad's side of the family. Technically it's my Dad's mother's mother's side of the family, the Smith's. There were a lot of missing faces this year and we hope they all make it next year because it will be the 25th year for the Reunion.

Friday night there was a big fish fry and Saturday afternoon is the pot luck dinner. I made Chicken N Dumplin's because ever since the first time I made them for the reunion about 7 years ago, I have been asked to every year. One year I made something else and several of the older relatives YELLED at me!! In any case, it's easy to make so I do. I mean to document it while I made it so I could put it over on the food blog but I forgot. I will make them again soon, I'm sure.
Saturday Jayme started to feel sick and ended up with the Fever sickness Raley had. He wasn't running fever this morning but he isn't quite himself either.
My parents left our house Monday and took the boys with them. Pattie was less than thrilled when Grannie and Pop left, but when she saw the boys get in the van with them she about jumped out of my arms and wanted to go too. I'm not sure who it upset more, her or Grannie. She cried for a little while then went to sleep and so far hasn't asked about them again.
I am on pins and needles waiting for the phone to ring and expecting it to be my parents telling me that Clay is sick. He never got the stomach bug the rest of us went through and now this fever crap is trying to go around too. Please, please, please let it skip him so they can have SOME fun!!?? I about had a breakdown the other day throwing a pity party for myself regarding our less than stellar summer so far. This coming weekend is Jayme's side of the family's annual 4th of July get-together and if we have to miss that I may sink into a darkness for a few days so anyone who wants to throw some good juju this way, I NEED IT!!!!!
