I don't have to take them myself!! Since Pattie is still 4 years away from Kindergarten, I'm going to try to take her picture to send out with the cards. In a good year, we would have had time to go to my step m-i-l's and she would have taken a stunningly beautiful portrait of her like she did last year. Unfortunately we did not make it there this Fall so I have to try to get a good shot of her. She has a beautiful dress from her cousin Audrey and she was very excited yesterday to put it on. But the actual picture taking went like this...
Me: "Smile Pattie!"
This is the face she makes when we ask her to smile. Yes, I know, I know, it's adorable. It's also very frustrating. New tactic...
Me: "Where's my pretty baby girl?"
Much better but still not quite what I wanted. I know!! Maybe a prop will help...
No, not really. Hmmmmmmmm, a different dress, perhaps.....
Better look, but it's a little dark, I'd rather have her full body, and I like the other dress more. I think what I will do is have a little photo session with her every day for the next few days and see if we can improve upon these and score the perfect shot before it's too late. Wish me luck!!
I am still putting off taking a Christmas picture because it's just so darn depressing! All you can hope for is "not deranged looking." Forget trying to get perfect angles and smiles and hiding the double chin and all that.

Great school pics of the boys! We're going to try to get some good pics of the kids this weekend when we go see Santa (aka Johnny). I think we'll need some luck, too.
