Jayme left Sunday late morning after a big send-off breakfast. He went by the land first to check on the state of things there and found them thus: WET! After such a horribly dry summer and fall, we are glad to have had a mild, wet winter but it may have come too little too late for some of our trees. Such is life though and nothing lasts forever. As the weather improves through the spring we hope to once again spend weekends camping and walking and chainsawing (oh, my!) at our favorite slice of Texas.
After spending Monday with HR and filling out form after form after form, he was given a company laptop (with built-in video camera) and travel arrangements for his first week on the job site. He flew out the next morning and has been fast and furiously learning the ropes and figuring out his plans for
As far as the homefront, things have gone as usual. There have been minor skirmishes but no real battles. I have managed to walk the dogs and feed the children and get them to bed on time and I haven't really been mopey or upset. I guess I am too darn excited! I have a lot of things I would like to get better about (exercise, anyone?) but my inherent laziness is making that more a dream than a reality at present. I am really looking forward to Spring Break week which is coming up in just another 2 weeks. The kids and I will be heading down to my folks' to spend time with them and I hope to drive out to the area I have been looking at online for houses. It's too soon to actually go look at houses but seeing what is in the area will be nice.
In the meantime I have made up a list of what needs to be done to the house to get it ready to sell and it is a big list! First up is new granite countertops which have been ordered and will hopefully be put in just before we head out for break. At least I will get to enjoy them for a little while before we sell!
Now, maybe one more cup of coffee will give me the gumption to tackle some cleaning around here...

Whew, you have been busy. I'm sure this whole spring/summer will be crazy for you guys while you're in the process of relocating. So excited for you of all the new possibilities, though. Have fun!
