*This post is so incredibly late it really cannot be ignored. I would only offer that I am not a bad mom, we DID celebrate his birthday continually for two weeks but have just been so stinkin' busy I never posted this. He forgives, so I hope you all will too.*
Eight years ago as I was being wheeled from my delivery room into an OR I was more than a little scared. Most mothers delivered by midwife in our hospital system unless there was a problem and I was having enough of a problem that they called in a doctor. Suffice it to say, we moved to the OR because that is where the forceps were and everything turned out just fine. I was the blissfully happy mother of my second gorgeous little boy. He was and continues to be absolute perfection.
Clayton Wayne, what can I say that does you justice? He is the sweetest boy I have ever known. He thinks of others before himself all the time. When he goes to the treasure box at school (which he sometimes does multiple times in the same day) he often picks out something for his sister or brother. His teacher has told us several stories of him being kind and thoughtful beyond the norm for a second grader.
His interests this year are guns, archery, Star Wars, Legos, superheroes and his bike; pretty much the same as always. When he picks out a book at school it is about 99% likely that he will choose a non-fiction book. there is about a 50% chance that he will pick it out because it covers a topic someone he knows is interested in. For example, Raley is playing trombone so Clay got a book about trombones. He likes country music and his current favorite song is "Country Girl Shake it for Me" by Luke Bryan. I was shaking along to it and he said, "Mommy! You aren't a Country Girl! You're a Redneck Girl!" Not sure how to take that actually....
He makes us proud and he makes us laugh. He makes our family fun. It is impossible to be upset with him for very long. He is a tireless worker as long as his job is outside. He would rather be outside working than inside laying around. He gets that from his dad. He is considerate of others. He still likes to snuggle with me and he always makes me smile. The last eight years with him have only made us look more forward to the future and all the things he will accomplish in life. Happy Birthday To Our Tough Guy!! We love you!!
