Life with Ginny

It's been a little over a month now since we became a two dog family. Things have been a lot of fun with Ginny. She is such a great dog and she has the funniest personality.
When we got her, our friends told us that her rap name was G-Bomb. If you happen to be standing nearby when she does a body shake or if you go to sit in a spot she has recently vacated, you will understand why. She leaves a lot of hair behind! We are used to tall the black hair from Luke but with Ginny's blond hair mixed in we get a kind of bluish grey conglomeration on the floors. Makes you look around for the old grey haired guy who is losing his hair at a rapid rate.
She also has a behavior we have come to call "bulking." It started as a joke that she was the same general height and weight as Luke but she has a lot more "bulk" that she uses to get her way. She will use her size to nudge you over in bed or out of your spot on the couch. Thus the new nickname we have for her, "The Incredible Bulk."
Her storm anxiety is still rearing its head. It hasn't been the most rainy summer here in drought-stricken East Texas, but we have had a thunderstorm or two and Ginny barks at the thunder and growls and shakes. She likes to be close to me and her favored spot is under the computer desk. If I sit at the computer, she crawls under it and goes to sleep. During a trip to the land last week we discovered that in her mind gunshots = thunder so she will have to be inside during shooting times, but since Luke would rather be inside then too, it's not so big a deal.
We haven't had any more running away attempts either. She seems to be happy here and has a lot of snuggle time and we go for walks. I still wouldn't trust her without a leash and we are very vigilant about open doors though. Mostly she is just a great addition to our family and we are wondering how we ever managed without her.
She helps me cook

She likes the woods
She gets along with our boys**
She's a happy traveller
And she's always up for a nice walk
**In case you were wondering, we do have a third dog (temporarily). Tufaan is visiting and has been for about 2 weeks. He'll be going back home soon and then moving far away so we are kind of sad about that.
