So this weekend we completely cleared Pattie's room of all but one piece of existing furniture. The crib/toddler bed is gone, as is the changing table/dresser and the futon couch where my parents always sleep when they come to visit. In place of all that we have my old day bed, the small chest of drawers that used to have her crib bedding in it (it now holds all her clothes) and ALL HER TOYS!! That's right folks...if you have ever been to my house you know that my living room has always housed the majority of the toys in our possession. This started way back when Raley was a baby. Now our living room is eerily clear of
ankle twisting death traps children's toys, and honestly, it looks kind of naked but I am sure I will get used to it soon enough.
I know I have a picture of how Pattie's room used to look but it must be older than last July which is as far back as my pics go on this newer computer. You can kind of see it in this shot from last month when Nana stayed on the futon for a few days:

You can see how there is really no room at all for even one toy, much less the toy store worth of stuff Pattie has to play with.
So now if I stood in the same spot as I did to take the picture above, her room looks like this:
And if I step in the room and turn to the left I see:
Her big girl bed:
I think she likes it!
And I can slip in next to her for snuggles :)
The bed has a trundle underneath it for when visitors come who prefer to stay in the house rather than out in the trailer. I wish I could say the new bed has magically cured all our sleeping issues around here but no such luck just yet. Sleep issues are just another part of the chaos.
It's always so exciting rearranging bedrooms! I remember loving it as a kid, and I still love doing it for my kids! Love the butterflies on the wall, btw.
