It's Been a Week Now

Here's a Fun Fact Friday style post to let you in on what we have been up to in our first week of homelessness

·         Visited Mimi (Jayme’s step-mom) on our way into town
·         Shopped at HEB on the way back from the airport. I only needed a few things….but I bought a lot more!
·         Shopped at our Kroger and liquor store when we went to check the house progress
·         Ate frozen yogurt at an Orange Leaf for the first time. I had Cheesecake yogurt with mini caramel filled chocolates and caramel syrup. Jayme had Vanilla with Oreos and Reese’s cups. It’s right by our Kroger and I picture us going there often. It’s within walking distance of the house so we can burn it off on the way back home LOL
·         Visited new house twice**
·         Set up house in the trailer at Momma & Daddy’s
·         Helped with the chores in the afternoons. Clay has actually helped almost every morning as well. He even asked to sleep in the house so that Grannie could wake him up. So far, only one morning has she been unable to rouse him.
·         Started cleaning/organizing for mom. We are starting slowly. So far just the kitchen towels drawer. We threw away anything too threadbare and now we get to have fun buying a few new ones. Next up: junk drawers!!
·         Walked the dogs early before street heats up. Admittedly I have not done this every morning but I am trying
·         Gone up to Walmart
·         Took the kids to a program at the community center
·         Tried 4 new beers
·         Eaten take-out from my favorite BBQ place in town
·         Taken Jayme to the airport , twice. Well, sort of. See I took him and we said goodbye and I was about to pull away when he came back to the truck and said, “I don’t have my wallet!!” So we called the house and Daddy found his wallet and started driving towards us, we drove towards him and met up in the middle. Then I took Jayme back to the airport assuming he would miss the flight, but thanks to his elevated frequent flier status and its separate TSA lane, he made it!
·         Cooked dinner a few times, mom cleaned up the kitchen the next morning.
·         Slowly and deliciously made my way through a pint of Blue Bell Southern Blackberry Cobbler ice cream.  I LOVE the pie crust pieces!!!!

**I already posted some pics from our visit last week. We went today and we have granite!!

And light fixtures:

And a back door:
It has a very cool integrated bling in between the two panes of the window. There's a slider on the side to open/close, raise/lower it
