OKAY! So I was just looking at my previous posts and I kind of jumped from "we are about to get serious about moving" straight to "Goodbye". Sorry about that. Here's some meat from the middle:
We decided to go with a PODS unit for the bulk of our things. Thanks to Jayme's experience with Target Distribution, he knew how to build walls within the box using our boxes. We got a lot more in that PODS deal than most people do I would wager. Here is a picture just before we finished loading it.
After we took this we put in Jayme's big toolbox, the weed eater, the blower, several storage baskets, and miscellaneous other things we found at the last minute. I am fairly confident in the stability of the contents and I don't expect much to be broken when we open it back up. We'll see.....
We managed to sneak in a trip to Galveston in early June. We just went for the day but we had a lot of fun playing in the water. Clay got a little sunburned but everyone else was fine. We waited for hours and finally got to ride the ferry, which is one of my favorite things to do.
While we were down that way, we went to check on the new house. This picture was taken June 2nd:
They had just finished sheet-rocking the insides and it was looking like a real house in there. Rooms defined by walls and whatnot LOL. We called the builder to check on things early last week and he had some bad news for us. It looked like instead of getting in to the house mid-July, it would be more like mid to late-August. Delays in tile, carpet and cabinets along with some rain slowing down the bricklayers. After we got into town, we just had to go see it so we went on the 22nd and saw this:

And this:

TILE!! CABINETS!!
And this:

SHELVES!! IN MY PANTRY!!
And this:

My bathroom!!
So we stopped in and talked to the builder rep and he said based on us having all that, plus it has been painted and the baseboards and moldings are up, we are looking more like the first week of August. Still have carpet and granite and light fixtures and appliances. He called it a "stage 7" but I am not sure how many stages there are.
In the meantime, the clones and I are settled in at Grannie & Pop's. Jayme is spending two weeks in North Dakota, then one week here in Houston for the foreseeable future. They have him as the interim site manager at a new facility there. He and another person are alternating time so he gets to be home some. Hopefully we will have time to do a few more summer-fun things before it's moving time again and school starts. Until there's more to report.....
