Please Forgive My Absence

There's just a lot going on right now and I find myself out of time to do so many  things. Unfortunately blogging has fallen by the wayside for me like it has for so many of my blogging friends. I do promise to write as soon as I can. Just a little glimpse into things lately:
  • Jayme left town for one night and we ended up in Direct Care. Pattie and Clay were playing and her elbow joint got slightly out of joint. It's technically called "subluxation" and commonly referred to as "Nursemaid's Elbow" and it happens mostly in children under the age of 5. She was fine once it was rearticulated. I would like to never have to go through that again, please.
  • I made the 25 mile trek to Target with all three children on Monday (the boys were out of school for MLK) to get a refill on Pattie's inhaler. They were out. I had to go back a few days later. *sigh*
  • Since the boys were out and they wanted to go to Target to spend the last of their Christmas money. I also wanted to take them to see Beauty & the Beast and after $38 for tickets and $14.50 for the small popcorn, small coke and bottle of water, Pattie fell asleep before it was over. Lesson learned: Next time go to cheaper theater
  • In order to make room in the fridge for new grocery purchases, I decided to finish off an open bottle of wine. At 2 am, it decided to tell me in a very graphic way that it was too old for me to have it in my system.
  • We had a free consultation by Sears to see how much it would cost to upgrade our counters to either a Corian-type counter or quartz. Absolutely shocked out of our shoes by the quote of $7000!!!!!!! No new counters from Sears...EVER. Our neighbors had granite counters put in their kitchen and bathrooms by a local company and paid less than $3000
So my brain is a little too scattered to focus on more than food, laundry and cleaning and it barely functions enough for those things lately. Hopefully it's just a phase and soon I will revert to normalcy. Hang in there, please!?

  1. I can't believe how much that movie (and those counters!) cost. We are definitely among the "we only go to the cheap theater" kind of people. Glad you're back!

  2. Doesn't it always happen that way: the one night your husband is out of town and that's the night you wind up dealing with a major medical issue.

Oh and we were shocked to learn how cheap granite is now. Used to be the fancy, shmancy thing to use but now it's cheaper than most manufactured materials.
