Quick Trip to the Lake

Every year for the 4th of July, Jayme's family has a big gathering at a house on Lake Livingston. The house was home to Jayme's great-aunt and great-uncle. They are both gone now, and though the house is for sale, in the meantime the family still likes to gather there and enjoy the water, food, card games and family. Unfortunately, we won't be bale to join in on the fun this year. The 4th falls on a Monday and Jayme will be working. Additionally, the kids and I leave for our trip to Maryland right after that so we don't want to go without Jayme since that would add several days to our time away from him. We had enough of that during his Army days!
As we were looking at the calendar trying to decide whether we would stay home or go somewhere this past week, we talked about going to the lake and meeting Jayme's Mom there for a couple days. Lucky for us, she was able to make it work on short notice so we planned it out. We left on Wednesday because we had some unfinished business to take care of on Tuesday night: Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at the drive in!

Wednesday we loaded up and headed out to spend some time with Nana! Ginny had a great time at the lake. We discovered she likes to swim very much.

And she will jump from the dock into the water after a toy.

On the way back home Friday we stopped at the land and walked her around there some. She liked it a lot too.

Friday night we were back at the drive-in for Green Lantern and Pirates again. We brought a new item to help out with the late second movie sleepers....

By the end of Pirates it was after 1 am and Clay and Pattie were both out on the air mattress. Very fun! Green Lantern was really good. I'm thinking about signing up...

As much fun as our last few weeks have been, I am really looking forward to some time at home! This week we are having company up and then the kids and I are off with my folks for Daddy's family reunion for the weekend. Next week we will be local again except for Thursday when Pattie has her re-check with the pulmonologist in Dallas. Thinking of making a day of it there and checking out Legoland Discover Center. Summer Chaos :)
