Wishlists

For many years we have all kept our own wishlists on amazon.com. They are very helpful at Christmas and birthday time since we have always lived a fair distance from our families. I update them regularly and freshen them up as time goes by.
With our recent progress in the financial department of our lives, we started a wishlist for things we would like to buy/save up for. Yes, I made an Excel spreadsheet for it. Sorry. I'm adorkable that way. In any case we have three basic categories: House, Trailer and Land. Some of the things are on the more Need than Want end of the spectrum but I would say most of the list has wants on it. There is a wide range of cost as well. Everything from a new livingroom set ($2500) down to replacing our broken, hard-to-use doorknobs (free but we had to pay $26 in shipping).
On the house list there are 26 things and we have already gotten 6 of them! It's so exciting!!
1--We went ahead and ordered the doorknobs because that one is a major need. We have had issues with all of them for quite some time. We can't really use our front door right now because of it. It was one of those things that we should have done but just never did! Cost: $26 in shipping
2--We are putting up bookshelves in the boys' room. We started this project a while back and just bought the wood and hardware to finish it up. Jayme will hang them this week! Cost: $60 in materials
3--We finally got a new toaster oven. Our old one stopped toasting a long time ago and we don't have a regular toaster so I have been broiling toast and I burn more than I get right. Very cool to have a working one now. They didn't have the one we really wanted at the store but the $20 one will work just fine! Cost: $20
4--We love using the fireplace in our livingroom. It's a little on the small side so it doesn't heat up the house as much as we'd like. We have talked a lot about getting a blower to help that particular issue but they are pretty expensive. Jayme was talking about it at work one day and one of his coworkers asked some questions about our fireplace. Then he said he had one he wasn't using and we could have it for $25!! SOLD! Our neighbor is helping us hook it up (he's a licensed electrician) so all we are out is what we paid for the blower. Cost: $25

We had to order them online but they should be here by Valentine's Day. I'm so excited!! Now I just have to figure out what to get the clones....Maybe I should go check their wishlists!
