Well, I am finally getting around to our Mother's Day Weekend report! We had a very nice one. My day was Saturday due to travel plans on Sunday (more on that later). I had asked for a rosebush, and since we live in the area where 50% of the roses in the country come from, we figured they'd be pretty easy to find. I ended up getting two and I even bought one for my mom. It was so hard to choose which ones I wanted. I was looking for either peach or yellow. Here is what I ended up with:
This one wasn't marked so I don't know what kind it is. Jayme picked it out for me.
This one is a Peace rose. Each of the blooms so far is a different swirl of colors. I love it!
This is the one I got my Mom. It called Red Ribbons.
After buying roses we continued to Barnes & Noble. The guys had searched 2 stores already for one of my gifts but didn't find it. Jayme wanted to check B&N, but they were out as well. We tried Target, Walmart, and Lowe's but no luck. (For those of you keeping track, that's 6 stores they tried to find it in!) After that he told me he would have to order it and he was so sorry that it wouldn't be here in time for Mother's Day. It came in the mail yesterday and I LOVE it!! I spent yesterday afternoon reading the whole thing and I marked 31 recipes I want to try including Red Velvet Cake that Raley wants for his birthday party at the end
of the month:
My other present I don't have a picture of. It's the Twilight Graphic Novel: Volume 1 and I read it in about 45 minutes. It is beautifully drawn in a style that is more typical of Asian comics which I guess a lot of Twihards are having problems with, but I like comics too so it didn't bother me. I was a little disappointed that it is only 1/2 the story, but I guess that's why it is called Volume 1. No word yet on when the future volumes will come out!
On our way home from the stores, I ran in to Einstein Brothers and bought a box of bagels for breakfast the next morning and through the week for me and Raley. Instead of going out to dinner I made one of my favorite things. Angel Hair pasta with spaghetti sauce. What can I say...I'm a simple girl! I don't usually get Angel Hair because it makes Jayme's stomach upset but he didn't have that issue this time. Maybe because it had been so long since we ate it. The boys both commented on the different taste and in a good way too. After dinner Jayme asked if I wanted to watch a movie and I said, "Sure, go pick something out." My sweet guys put in New Moon and they even watched it with me. It was a great Mother's Day.
The next morning, we woke up early, grabbed a bagel and loaded in the Suburban. We drove down to the land where my parents had been for the weekend. I got to spend Mother's Day with my Mommy!! She loved her rosebush. I had brought all the ingredients for French Toast so I whipped up some brunch and after we ate, we played in the woods until the afternoon. On our way home we stopped in the newly wet sliver of Rusk and I bought 2 bottles of wine and a Sam Adams Brewmaster Collection. We ate leftovers for dinner and I went to bed blissfully content and feeling the love of my family all around me. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend too and if you are lucky enough to be a Mom, I hope you were made to feel like a queen...I sure was.

I really like the flower bush you got your mom.
