I have been delaying this post until I had something wonderful and profound to say and thus my return to blogging could be more than the "Oh, hi again I haven't blogged in forever but I am going to do better from now on" stuff I have done so many times before. This time I mean it!!
I have seen a few other bloggers do a kind of Year in Review for 2012 lately and I had actually thought of using that for this post so here goes:
***For some reason I cannot get the photo uploader to come up so no pictures***
January:
Finally fed up with the weekend night shift, Jayme sends his resume to a few places and starts interviewing and getting job offers! We realize that we will be moving at some point during the year and wonder where it will be.
February:
Jayme starts working for a company based in Houston!! So we get to move back home and are very excited. We decide to have him stay with family there while the boys finish out the school year. Now we begin a system where he is gone from Sunday afternoon to late Friday evening. It is hard but we get through it.
March:
We spring Break in Houston to research what area of town we want to buy a house in. We get a good idea of where we want to focus and then we start stalking real estate listing websites! We figure out how much house we want and basic floorplan elements we want and don't want.
April:
We frantically prep the house to put on the market. New granite countertops in the kitchen with tile backsplash. Also tile the remaining bathroom in the master. It really started to feel real that we were leaving and the emotions were so mixed.
May:
We put the house on the market May 1st. A couple came to look at it the day before and ended up making an offer for full asking price a couple days later. Jayme finds us a house in Spring that is under construction but will be ready mid July. Raley turns 12 (omg) and we spend the weekend celebrating him at the land. On Sunday we drive to the new house and sign the paperwork.
June:
As soon as school is out we start packing up everything and planning the last few projects to get ready for the closing. Jayme starts traveling to North Dakota for work, spending two weeks there and one week in Houston. He was able to be there the week before we closed and somehow we got it all done. We move into our trailer at my parents while our new house is getting finished.
July:
Weather causes a lot of delays for the builders and our move it date keeps getting pushed back. Frustrating but we are doing well at Mom and Dad's. We get to help them out and just have fun being with them!
August:
Jayme is done with the North Dakota assignment and we anxiously await our move in day. I can't register the kids for school because all their paperwork is in storage. I figured we would be in the house mid-July so I wouldn't need the papers while we waited. grrrr We moved into the new house 10 days before school started. Frantic hunt for doctor to update shot records for Raley and Pattie. School for all three of my clonies! Pattie had a hard time, crying every day for the first 2 weeks. She only cried getting out of the truck though. She was fine once she got inside and she had her awesome big brother to help her each morning.
September:
Pattie turns 5, Clay turns 9, I turn 36. We have a big party for all that plus housewarming. Lots of fun, not many pictures. This is the kind of thing we have been waiting for so long for. It brings everything together and makes us feel amazing!
October:
Jayme turns 37, and we spend the weekend at the land. I get an iPhone and we lose our sweet Luke. That's all I have to say about that.
November:
The kids have the whole week off at Thanksgiving so we plan to spend the whole week at the land. We invite lots of family and friends to join us and while not everyone could, we did have a great bunch who did. Some came just for the day even and it was so great! And we bought a motorcycle....
December:
Slowly starting to put things up on the wall in the house. We have really gone slowly with it but we want to be sure we like the way it looks because we don't plan to move for a good long while! It's our first Christmas without having to mail all the gifts! We got to see everyone on or near Christmas Day and truly enjoyed it.
